Respiratory Failure Neuromuscular

Neuromuscular respiratory failure is a condition in which breathing is impaired due to damage to the nervous or muscular system. This leads to weakening of the respiratory muscles and the inability to ensure normal gas exchange.

Causes of development of neuromuscular respiratory failure:

  1. Diseases of the nervous system (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, polio)

  2. Myopathies and muscular dystrophies

  3. Spinal cord injuries

  4. Damage to the phrenic nerve

Main symptoms:

  1. Shortness of breath, rapid shallow breathing

  2. Respiratory muscle fatigue

  3. Dizziness, weakness

  4. Decreased exercise tolerance

  5. Sleep disturbances, morning headaches

Diagnosis is based on analysis of complaints, examination, and examination of external respiration function.

Treatment depends on the cause and includes drug therapy, neuromuscular stimulation, non-invasive ventilation, and in severe cases, mechanical ventilation. Rehabilitation and strengthening of the respiratory muscles are important. The prognosis depends on the cause and extent of damage to the respiratory and neuromuscular systems.

What is non-muscular respiratory failure - This is a disorder of air movement that occurs due to damage or poor activity of the neurons that regulate breathing and/or the muscle tissues involved in breathing. - Breathing is one of the basic ways of maintaining life, and the human respiratory system is a complex network of interacting components, including the respiratory organs, airways, muscles and nerves. Problems with neuromuscular dysfunction (NMD) can cause stress and worsen health conditions.

Etiology

Like many other conditions in medicine, NMD dysfunction can be caused by a variety of causes. These include infectious diseases such as polio and paralytic poliomyelitis, genetic disorders, trauma and intense sports. Insufficient respiratory function can also be associated with a deficiency of vitamins such as D, groups B and C, with hemosiderism, thyroid disease and other diseases. In addition, dysfunction can occur due to other reasons, including HIV infection, chronic stress, aging and psychological problems. Neuromuscular pulmonary disorder syndrome is a complex and potentially dangerous condition that affects the major phases of breathing. It involves multiple interacting systems, often accompanied by physical impairments such as respiratory failure. Disruption of the normal functioning of the air system can lead to serious problems, which are accompanied by sleep disturbances, poor concentration and high nervous demands. Sometimes this syndrome leads to weight loss, asthma, pneumonia or premature death. Treatment for this condition may vary depending on its severity and causes. If the syndrome is beyond mild,
