Dystonia Biliary

Gallbladder dystonia is a condition in which the muscles around the gallbladder are unable to relax, resulting in contraction and pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen. Gallbladder dystocia is the most common disorder of gallbladder movement, characterized by impaired contraction of the gallbladder and, as a consequence, difficulty in excreting bile into the intestine. As a result, pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, as well as symptoms of digestive disorders such as stool disorders, constipation, diarrhea, yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes occur. Treatment for gallbladder dystonia may include changes in diet, exercise, medications, and other treatments.
