Thyme seeds cope with acne problems no less effectively than the most expensive creams and lotions. This conclusion was made by scientists from Leeds Metropolitan University. Moreover, thyme tincture does not irritate the skin, as can happen when using cosmetics.
The researchers decided to study in more detail the effect of this plant, as well as calendula and myrrh on acne, for which they made alcohol tinctures, and then added Propionibacterium acnes bacteria, which provoke the occurrence of acne. Of the three tinctures, thyme turned out to be the most effective, since it killed about 100 thousand bacteria per ml, or half a million per teaspoon. Scientists have also determined that thyme tincture, based on its properties, can be considered much more effective than benzoyl peroxide and the Clearasil line.
The herbal preparation does not dry the skin, does not cause burning, and heals wounds and pimples. And this is many times more effective and pleasant for the skin than cosmetics and medications.
