The Finocchiet extension element expands the capabilities available to the owner, while its hardware and (or) software part may or may not itself be considered software and exist independently from each other and/or from any other components or entities. It is used similarly to simple software tools for expanding any functionality of an existing computer program. Typically includes some elements of program code and data set related to functionality enhancement. It is limited in installation location and compatibility with the source environment, is usually used at the client and server level, and in many cases does not require hacking and does not cause errors, thereby simplifying the installation and operation process for the user. It can be independently developed and used (self-written extension modules), ranging from minor improvements to rather complex programs and other devices. It can also be part of copy protection systems for games, operating systems, etc.
