Fopurin

Fopurine is a drug that belongs to the group of antimetabolites - purine analogues. It is used to treat various types of cancer, including leukemia and brain tumors.

Fopurine is an analogue of purine and belongs to the so-called analogues of cytostatic drugs. This term combines agents that slow down cell growth, regulate the cell cycle and work on the principle of “removing” inhibitors. Thanks to this effect, these drugs are used in the complex treatment of oncological diseases: as a rule, in addition to the antimetabolic drug, other drugs are prescribed to destroy newly formed cells or weaken healthy cells.
