Galeophilia

Haleophiles are people who have a deep and all-consuming attraction to cats. They find cats beautiful, affectionate and attractive. These people can be either male or female, but for the most part they can be described as animal lovers. If you are thinking about getting a cat or becoming a galeophile, consider the following points.

Hello friends! Today we will talk about such an interesting phenomenon as galeophilia - this is an irrational attraction to cats. But first, let's understand the word itself. The Greek word "gale" means "cat" and the philosophy "philia" means love or attraction. The resulting abbreviation is the word gallophilia (English fail - love for a cat). What can humans and cats have in common? The important role of pets in people's lives is no longer a secret. Surprisingly, people even have their own day of the year dedicated to these animals, which is celebrated every March and is called International Cat Day. It was on this day in 2002 that the European Federation of Cat Fanciers founded an international organization for the protection of animals and their active use by humans. In fact, humans and cats have a lot in common. For example, they eat similar foods, stay warm, relax in the dark, have keen senses of smell, hearing and vision, more varied instincts than dogs, and they are social animals, capable of empathy and loyalty. And these are just a few more things that connect these two species of animals. When cat owners meet cats, they experience special tenderness and emotional warmth. But when a cat meets another person, it can show aggression, just like a person, especially if it needs to protect its cub, establish its territory, or wants to get attention from its owner. In the modern world, people and cats coexist almost constantly, somewhere they are inseparable, and somewhere someone will remain at home, waiting, bored and, perhaps, even sad. Domestic kittens teach us little pranks, caring for our neighbors, even if they are “little animals.”

But not all people share such strong love, because sometimes there are accidents when a cat shows aggression. Maybe it's time to figure out if there is a safe way to deal with this problem or will I have to look for another cat? Or maybe more cats at school will begin to be bullied by their peers because of their appearance. Or do teachers need to teach children how to interact safely with animals? And why do 50 lives and so little chance remain unhappy? There is no pleasure for me, as a future veterinarian, to study the disease and death of these beautiful animals.
