Glia and Alzheimer's

Glia are glial cells and belong to macrophages or astrocytes. Glia play an important role in the growth and differentiation of neurons and can act as a protective factor against external influences. There is speculation that glial cell degeneration may play a role in the development of symptoms in patients with Alzheimer's disease and may interfere with proper brain function. A type of receptor cell called PKC (prefabricated keratin cells) causes some of the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and influences brain damage.
