Gorasha Nephropexy

Gorasha nephropexy is a surgical operation to fix the kidney, proposed by the Soviet surgeon V.A. Gorash (1878-1942).

The term comes from the Greek words nephros - "bud" and pexis - "attachment".

The operation consists of suturing the kidney to the surrounding tissues to prevent its mobility. This helps relieve pain and discomfort caused by nephroptosis (prolapse of the kidney).

Gorasha first performed this operation in 1912. His technique involved fixing the kidney to the anterior abdominal wall. Since then, the surgical technique has undergone some changes, but the principle remains the same.

Nephropexy according to Gorash is still used in the treatment of nephroptosis, especially in cases where conservative therapy is ineffective. This operation allows you to achieve a lasting positive effect.

*Gorash N.P.* - Soviet surgeon *Congenital hydronephrosis of the right kidney at the age of 5 and necrosis of the renal parenchyma of the left kidney* - diagnosed by _V. A. Gorash._ **Indications for surgery:** surgery was indicated due to impaired patency of the pelvis of the left kidney and hydronephrotic transformation of the right kidney. In addition, during the surgical operation, a violation of the patency of the upper urinary tract was diagnosed in the form of abnormal development of the renal pelvis in the fetus (multiplicity of holes and tubules). *Why did you choose this method of nephropexy and not other methods?* Gorshie Neropexya
