Hernia

A hernia is an abnormal protrusion of abdominal organs due to damage to the peritoneum. Most often it appears in the navel area, then in the scrotum and groin. It is easy to distinguish from other tumors, since you can push it back into place with your hand, but as soon as you let go of the hand, it appears again.

A hernia itself is not dangerous to health, but the possibility of strangulation is dangerous.

While the hernia on the abdomen is small, it is useful to wash the lower abdomen daily with cold water and vinegar and apply oak bark infusion compresses to the hernia for 20-30 minutes to prevent its enlargement. In addition, be sure to wear a special bandage for this purpose.

The strangulation occurs when the intestines that have entered the hernial sac suddenly get stuck there and do not come back out through the opening. Then severe pain appears in the entire abdomen, which quickly swells from gases, vomiting of food begins, then bile and feces, all bowel movements stop. Only surgery can save him.

In the event of a sudden injury, the patient must be taken to the hospital as soon as possible or a doctor must be called. In the meantime, take the following measures: put the patient in a warm bath and, while in the bath, try to push the stuck intestines back into the abdominal cavity. If this is not possible, then let the patient lie down in bed and tuck his legs under him and lie there until the doctor arrives.

For pain, put ice on the hernia, and for nausea, let him swallow ice. If the doctor’s arrival is delayed, then give the patient an enema of warm water, this will calm him down somewhat, but no laxatives should be given.

It is very easy to get rid of a hernia through surgery, but doing it during strangulation is extremely dangerous.

In children, the umbilical hernia is reduced and then an adhesive plaster is applied, and a circular bandage is applied on top of the plaster. After two weeks the hernia no longer comes out. And if it still comes out, then you need to repeat the application of the sticky patch.

Folk remedies. Drink two cups a day of decoction of the root of the planta herb. Take 3 teaspoons of herb per bottle of water. Drink two cups of decoction of cornflower flowers. 3 teaspoons of flowers per bottle of water. This is a good remedy when you are overstrained.

A hernia is a pathological protrusion of internal organs through a defect in the muscular aponeurotic layer in the abdominal wall into the lumen of the abdominal or thoracic cavities. The defect can form due to weakness of the connective tissue or as a result of injury.

Less common are oblique or lateral hernias. Hernia of the umbilicus, Spigelian line, adductor muscles of the thigh. And also an inguinal hernia. Phrenospastic, diaphragmatic hernia, femoral hernia in women, acquired lower paraplegia of the lumbosacral spine. Wegner's granulomatosis (pain, weight loss, ulcerative colitis), polyatrophy - a mixed disease, because no external defect is formed. Combined with amyloidosis, in which damage to the cardiovascular system predominates. Amyloidosis occurs against the background of rheumatism, tuberculosis, liver cirrhosis, and pancreatitis.
