Cordanum: a cardioselective beta blocker from Germany

Cordanum is one of many beta1-blockers produced in Germany. This drug, produced by Arzneimittelwerk Dresden GmbH, has the international name Talinolol and is used to treat various cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease, hypertension and heart failure.

Cordanum is a cardioselective beta blocker, which means it has the most potent effect on beta1 adrenergic receptors in the heart. Therefore, this drug can reduce the heart rate and reduce the force of the heart's contraction, which helps reduce the need for oxygen and improve blood circulation in the heart muscle.

Cordanum is available as an injection solution in a dosage of 10 mg. The active ingredient is talinolol. This drug can be used in the treatment of various cardiovascular diseases such as angina pectoris, hypertension, acute myocardial infarction and neurocirculatory dystonia. However, Cordanum also has some contraindications, including hypersensitivity, cardiogenic shock, diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma and other diseases.

Side effects from the use of Cordanum may include dizziness, headache, drowsiness, sleep disturbances, blurred vision, sinus bradycardia, hypotension, bronchospasm and others.

Interactions with other medications may also be a problem with Cordanum. For example, calcium antagonists can increase antianginal and hypotensive activity, but when administered intravenously they increase the likelihood of disturbances in myocardial conduction and contractility.

In general, Cordanum is an effective and safe drug for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, but its use should only be under the supervision of a doctor, taking into account the individual characteristics of the patient and observing all contraindications and restrictions.
