Insular Insufficiency

Insular insufficiency is an insufficient secretion of insulin in the pancreas or its relative decrease due to dysfunction of pancreatic cells or reduced secretory synthesis. In other words, the presence of reduced insulin levels due to the lack of sufficient amounts of the active hormone or in conditions of low functional capacity

Common signs of a hypoinsular condition include depleted blood sugar, which is often accompanied by increased weight loss, increased appetite, and hunger. Dizziness, headache, increased heart rate, sudden fluctuations in blood pressure and night sweats may also be symptoms.
