Ivemark Syndrome

Evemark syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that causes early and severe mental retardation, growth and physical abilities in children.

Named after the Swedish pediatrician Wilhelm Emann Ivemark (IVEMARK), who first described this rare pathology in 1973. Dr. Ivemark noted that children with Ivemark syndrome are usually born with normal height and intelligence, but during the first two years of life, children's height and weight decline sharply.
