Cataract Mild

Soft cataract, or senile cataract (syn. "Beilin's disease") is a type of senile presenile cataract, characterized by clouding of only the epithelium of the lens while maintaining the vitreous body and sclera without their inclusion in the clouding process. This is the most common type of cataract among older people and occurs mainly in women. But there are three main types of Beilin’s disease: soft, hard (senile-vegetative cataract).

General information.

The disease is characterized by enophagia, which is usually not accompanied by ulceration; Over time, some improvement may occur (fasting treatment). In the early stage, simple measures can be prescribed, such as wearing glasses to correct the defect (if there is intolerance to contact lenses) or vitamin preparations. If your vision begins to deteriorate, you can use contact lenses to correct ametropia. Fasting treatment is usually prescribed after such attempts and in cases of chronic progression of cataracts. Sometimes cosmetic surgery to remove the nucleus may be necessary. If left untreated, the disease usually continues for several months or years. It usually results in vision loss to a fairly low level. If it is combined with vascular dementia, delirium may occur: such a patient should be hospitalized. Optic atrophy may be associated with senile cataracts; late changes in neurosensory retinal density may indicate this. The course of the disease coincides with the normal prognosis for senile changes.

**Symptoms of cataracts**

- With mild cataracts, there are no visual symptoms. However, many patients notice spots, flickering, fog, or distorted vision near the eyes in poor lighting. As the condition worsens over time and the cataract becomes larger, there is a noticeable loss of visual acuity, often accompanied by a narrowing of the field of vision and the appearance of lightning near or above the eyes. The blindness experienced is so incomplete and transient that most patients report nothing about it. Deterioration of vision occurs due to the accumulation of an amorphous substance that clogs
