Treatment of diarrhea caused by thickening of juices

We have already indicated how to treat such diarrhea, when we taught ways to divert overflowing juices to the outer integument of the body; it is best to expel the juices with the help of bloodletting and appropriate relief, which we have already finished talking about. Bathing in the waters that open the vessels is also used, and these are the waters in which the opening agents were boiled, and in the waters that wash and tear off. Often take the baths prescribed for jaundice, if the thickening is considerable, and rub the body with rough towels or washcloths until the skin turns red, and then pour over it with hot water and the astringent waters just mentioned.
