Guam fever

Guam fever is an infectious disease from the group of tropical mosquito fevers, caused by the arbovirus of the same name. It is characterized by a mild course.

This disease is found in Brazil and the island of Trinidad. Guam fever virus is transmitted by Culex mosquitoes. The incubation period is 3-6 days. Symptoms include fever, headaches, muscle and joint pain, and a red rash on the skin. Some patients develop lymphadenopathy.

In general, Guam fever is fairly mild and does not cause serious complications. Treatment consists of symptomatic therapy - reducing temperature, pain relief. The prognosis is favorable, mortality is extremely low. No specific prevention or vaccine has been developed against this disease. Prevention consists of protection against mosquito bites in endemic regions.



Gumsky fever is a disease that is often accompanied by fever and also has more mysterious symptoms, including changes in the blood, headache, myalgia (muscle pain) and rhinitis. This is an infectious disease. It can be caused by viruses, bacteria or parasites.
