Magnesium-Diasporal: An effective peripheral vasodilator made in Germany

Magnesium Diasporal, also known as Magnesium sulfate, is a pharmaceutical drug that belongs to the group of peripheral vasodilators. It is produced by the German company Protina GmbH and is widely used in medical practice. Magnesium Diasporal is available in the form of lozenges and contains the active substance - Magnesium sulfate.

Magnesium Diasporal has a variety of clinical applications. It is used by injection to treat hypertensive crisis, myocardial infarction, eclampsia, encephalopathy, hypomagnesemia and other conditions associated with magnesium deficiency. The drug can also be used to prevent hypomagnesemia, especially in case of poor or unbalanced nutrition, taking contraceptives, diuretics, muscle relaxants, as well as chronic alcoholism. For internal use, Magnesium-Diasporal is used for poisoning, constipation, cholangitis, cholecystitis and for cleansing the intestines before diagnostic procedures.

Despite its effectiveness, Magnesium-Diasporal has a number of contraindications. The use of the drug is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to its components, severe bradycardia, AV block, impaired renal function, severe renal failure, myasthenia gravis, respiratory diseases, acute inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy and during menstruation.

When using Magnesium-Diasporal, some side effects may occur. When the drug is injected, bradycardia, conduction disturbances, diplopia, a feeling of heat, sweating, hypotension, anxiety, weakness, headache, deep sedation, decreased tendon reflexes, shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting and polyuria may occur. When taken orally, nausea and vomiting, as well as acute inflammatory reactions of the gastrointestinal tract, are possible.

The interaction of Magnesium Diasporal with other drugs should also be taken into account. The drug may enhance the effect of other medications. Magnesium-Diasporal interacts with certain medications, including antiarrhythmic drugs, aminoglycoside antibiotics, tetracyclines, cisplatin drugs, digitoxin, penicillamine, and some muscle relaxants. When using these drugs concomitantly with Magnesium-Diasporal, caution should be exercised and monitored for possible side effects.
