Pharmacy name: pubescent hairs of Kamala fruits - Kamala, or RotUerae glandula (formerly: Glandulae Rottierae).
Botanical description. A small tree with alternate, tomentose-pubescent leaves below, small flowers and spherical capsule-shaped fruits. Flowers and fruits are also tomentose, with red glands on the hairs of pubescence. It grows in tropical Asia and northeastern Australia.
Active ingredients: red-yellow dye (rottlerin), laxative resins, tannins and a number of other substances.
Application. Previously, Kamala was used as an anthelmintic against tapeworms and roundworms.
