Meningomyelitis [Meningomyelitis; Meningo- + Greek. Myelos (Spinal) Brain + -I]

Meningomyelitis is one of the most common diseases of the brain and spinal cord, which occurs in acute or chronic form. Doctors often call this disease myelitis or demyelination syndrome. The name of the disease includes two terms - myelone and menchion (neuron and membrane), so the disease, according to the official nomenclature, is somewhat related to myeloneurosyphilis, but the name "meningitis" is not entirely accurate for this disease due to its true origin.
