Metronidazole

**Metronidazole** is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial and antiprotozoal drug, a derivative of nitrofuran and nitroimidazoles. A similar active substance contains the antibiotic Miconazole of the same name. Refers to a reserve drug among intestinal antidiarrheals. The drug belongs to the class of antibacterial and antiparasitic drugs, namely nitromidazolides.
