Mesotympanon

Mesotympanon: what is it and how to use it

Mesotympanone is a medical device used to treat various ear conditions. The word "mesotympanon" comes from the Greek "tympanon" - drum, and "meso-", meaning "middle". Thus, mesotympanon is a device that is used in the middle ear area.

The mesotympanon has a long metal tube that is inserted into the ear. Inside the tube is a microphone that picks up sounds from the environment. Sounds are transmitted through the tube to the ear, which improves audibility and sound quality.

Mesotympanone can be used to treat various ear diseases, such as atresia (congenital absence of the sound passage), perforation of the eardrum (ruptured eardrum), and to restore hearing after middle ear surgery.

The use of mesotympanone involves the procedure of inserting a tube into the ear, which is carried out by an otolaryngologist. Insertion of the tube is usually performed under general anesthesia and the procedure lasts about 15 minutes. After the tube is inserted, the patient may feel some discomfort in the ear, but this usually goes away quickly.

Mesotympanon is an effective and safe device that can be used to treat various ear diseases. If you have hearing problems, contact an otolaryngologist for advice and the possibility of using mesotympanone.
