Perineal Nerves

Perineal nerves (PNS) are a set of nerve fibers that pass through the perineum from the lumbosacral plexus of the spine to the coccyx and lower extremities through the labia minora, muscles of the anus and perineum. The structure of the perineal nerves is interesting because it may seem unexpected. The common subcostal nerve, posterior cutaneous nerve of the thigh, inferior gluteal and saphenous femoral nerves unite here. This bundle of intertwined nerves is known as the second neurouterofemoral nerve.
