Oculometry

Oculometry is a method for studying eye movements. The word comes from the Latin oculo - "eye" and the Greek metreo - "to measure".

Oculometry allows you to record human eye movements and analyze them. Typically, special devices are used for this - oculometers. They record the position of the eyes and the direction of gaze in real time.

The data obtained using oculometry can be used in various fields:

  1. in psychology and neurophysiology, to study attention, memory, thinking;

  2. in marketing, to analyze what a user looks at on a web page or in a store;

  3. in medicine, for the diagnosis of visual impairments and various diseases.

Thus, oculometry is an important research method that provides objective data on movements and gaze fixation. Information collected using oculometers is used in many areas of science and practice.
