Carbon monoxide

Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is formed during incomplete combustion of various types of fuel. This type of harmful gas does not have an odor, so in case of leaks it does not cause concern to those people who are nearby. In this regard, with large leaks of carbon monoxide, they are not detected by gas sensors and sensors of toxic substances can give a false signal about clean air. The name “carbon monoxide” itself is more likely of Russian origin, since the English phrase does not carry such a meaning. For example, the British designate carbon monoxide as carbon monoxide; by the principle of exclusion, they call everything that remains of carbon oxide, and other carbon-saturated oxides are simply carbon dioxide. But our Russian-speaking population, unfortunately, will not understand these subtleties.
