Orphanage

The orphanage is one of the oldest institutions in Russia, which was created to help orphans and children without parental care. It was founded in 1763 in St. Petersburg and became the first institution of this type in Russia.

The orphanage was intended for children who could not be adopted or taken into care. Here they received education, medical care and upbringing. The teachers at home were professional teachers and had extensive experience working with children.

One of the main tasks of the Orphanage was to teach children literacy, numeracy and other sciences. Children also practiced music, drawing and other creative activities. There were many books and educational materials in the house that helped the children develop.

In addition, the Orphanage took care of the health of children. They received the necessary nutrition and also underwent medical examinations. If children had health problems, they received qualified medical care.

Today, the Orphanage continues its work, helping orphans and children without parental care. It is one of the few institutions of this type that have survived to this day.

An educational home is a building or premises in which children deprived of parental care are kept. Such children may be orphans due to the death of their parents or become wards of the state for other reasons.

Orphanages were created in 19th century Russia as an alternative to orphanages. At that time, many children died from hunger, cold and disease. Orphanages operated on donations collected from the people. In them, children received education, food and medical care. Today, educational homes have the status of social institutions and are intended not only for children left without parental care, but also for children from low-income families. They exist mainly due to government funding, which is distributed among all children's institutions in Russia. The orphanage is intended for children under five years of age who are in difficult life situations. It provides children with the opportunity to receive a varied education and upbringing, teaches social adaptation, as well as assistance in finding employment after graduation.
