Carbolic or Sulfuric Acid Poisoning

Signs: inflammation and severe pain in the mouth, esophagus, stomach, intestines. Mouth and lips are burned. Often there is also vomiting of dark, bloody masses; dark green urine, dizziness, fainting.

We urgently need to call a doctor to lavage the stomach. Without it, take the following measures: give as much liquid as possible - lime water in glasses, then magnesia, chalk, also milk, raw eggs, 6-12 pieces at a time. Give deep enemas. No emetic should be given. (In case of sulfuric acid poisoning, the stomach should not be washed.)

When the most difficult moments have passed, the patient should be well wrapped up in bed, given mucous decoctions of flaxseed or barley to drink, and given ice to swallow.

The consequences of such poisoning affect the entire life in the form of scars and narrowing in the digestive tract.
