Toxic Nerve Agents

Nerve- and paralytic-spectrum toxicants are among the most dangerous chemical compounds that can cause serious harm to human health and even be fatal. This is why these chemicals are highly regulated and require special controls during storage, transportation and use.

A nerve agent (nerve agent) is any chemical substance that, when consumed, can cause damage to the central nervous system, leading to difficulty or impossibility of voluntary movements, loss of sensitivity, and stupor (inhibited state). Nerve agent poisoning occurs through inhalation, skin absorption, or ingestion. According to the mechanism of action, agents of the nervous system are divided into: neuromuscular (toxins), para- and sympathomimetic poisons, myoneuritis poison and toxins.

Thus, nerve agents and paralytic poisons are one of the most important threats to world security. They act as factors in the escalation of modern conflicts and the use of chemical agents against troops without identification marks leads to the fact that many thousands of civilians become victims of new types of toxic substances.
