Paraspasm Facial

Facial paraspasm is a neurological condition that involves involuntary and repetitive contractions of the facial muscles, usually caused by a nerve impulse. This is one of the types of pleurospasm. The word “spasm” refers to a convulsive and often painful contraction of the orbicularis oculi muscle. In the case of the described disease, such spasms occur in the frontalis muscle, which is responsible for the smile, and its additional part, which allows for active chewing movements.
