Partnered births are beneficial for mother and baby

Half of all births that occur in Ukraine take place as partnerships, that is, with the participation of the child’s father. This figure in some regions reaches 80%, which indicates the popularity of this option of obstetric care. Valentina Kolomeichuk, head of the department of obstetric and gynecological care to the population of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, emphasizes that the support of her husband plays a very important role for a woman in labor during childbirth.

Having a husband present during childbirth not only gives the woman additional support, but can also reduce the need for medications and other medical interventions. As a result, this has a positive effect on the health of both mother and baby. In addition, the presence of the future dad in the delivery room disciplines the medical staff well, which is also important for a successful birth.

There are many benefits to partner birthing. Among them are the strengthening of family ties, improvement of the psychological state of the woman in labor due to the support and understanding of her husband, as well as the opportunity for the child’s father to be included on an equal basis with the mother in the process of birth and caring for the baby after birth.

In addition, having a partner birth can be beneficial for the father of the child, as it gives him the opportunity to participate in an important event in the lives of his loved ones and strengthens his bond with the newborn child.

It is worth noting that in recent years more and more men have become active participants in the process of childbirth and caring for a newborn. Modern technology also helps prepare expectant fathers for childbirth. For example, the first childbirth simulator was created, which allows men to understand how childbirth occurs and how they can help their wives during this period.

In conclusion, partner birthing is a useful birthing option for many families. Thanks to the support of her husband, a woman receives additional strength and energy, and can also avoid the need for many medical interventions. In addition, it strengthens family ties and gives the future father the opportunity to be included on an equal basis with the mother in the process of birth and caring for the baby after birth.
