Peptides in bodybuilding.

Lately, the Ru-Net has been increasingly discussing a new tool from the arsenal of a modern bodybuilder - peptides, which has already managed to generate considerable resonance around its unusual name. Although the substance appeared relatively recently, it has already gained a significant audience of consumers in the post-Soviet countries. In this article, we will help you find out what peptides are, what their role is in bodybuilding, and what the main benefit of using them is.

Peptides are a substance that consists of molecules built by amino acid residues united into a single chain by peptide bonds. These compounds contain from tens to hundreds of thousands of units - amino acids. At the present time, the most common drugs are growth hormone stimulants (abbreviated GH), they are the most popular for a wide range of consumers from the world of “iron sports”.

Classification into groups allows us to better understand the nature of these drugs and the principles of their effect on the body of an athlete engaged in bodybuilding.

All the bodybuilding peptides we consider in detail below can be divided into two groups: GHRP and GHRH. First, we will tell you how these groups fundamentally differ from each other...

Consider the Ghrelin group (GHRP), these drugs, regardless of the time of day or the presence of somatostatin in the bodybuilder’s blood plasma, provide a powerful effect and a pronounced concentration of growth hormone. It has long been heard: GHRP-6, Hexarelin, GHRP-2, Ipamorelin - they are the most well-known drugs in this group.

Unlike the previous ones, GRF (1-29), CJC-1295, HGH Frag (176-191) are part of the group of growth hormone releasing peptides (GHRH).

The use of this group of drugs can cause a wave-like rise in the concentration of growth hormone, and its level is weak during the period of reduced secretion of its own hormone, and high at night, when its natural concentration is higher.

For the bodybuilding athlete, this means that GHRH significantly increases the secretion of the growth hormone we need without disrupting the natural curve. Below we will take a closer look at each specific representative from these two groups.

So, let's look at the most popular products from the groups described above.

— GHRP-6 and Hexarelin. The latter is actually an analogue of the first, but they have almost the same effects and are intended to eliminate growth hormone deficiency. GHRP-6 is often compared to GHRP-2; critics even believe that there is no point in using them together, because they are the same thing. In fact, this is not entirely true, because their main difference is that GHRP-2 is one and a half times more powerful, and it can also increase the concentration of prolactin. Many bodybuilding professionals recommend taking these two products together to achieve a synergistic effect, this is confirmed by research. When taking two and six, the concentration of GH in the blood was maximum.

Hexarelin has become very popular on the market, because its use allows athletes to increase endurance and muscle definition. In addition, there are some other important effects such as:

  1. increase in strength indicators,
  2. burning subcutaneous fat,
  3. rejuvenating effect,
  4. increased appetite,
  5. strengthening bones,
  6. liver protection,
  7. as well as an anti-inflammatory effect.

Using the drugs in question in bodybuilding, namely GHRP-6, you can further increase the above-described positive effects from their use if you combine them with other GH stimulants or steroids. It is best to use this substance with CJC-1295, this is actually the best “mix”, with GHRP-2, which doubles the course, with insulin (+35% effectiveness), arginine (+15%) and glutamine.

Regarding the “side effects” of this drug, they were not identified during the study; on the contrary, it strengthens the body and its protective properties. The doses and regimen of use are very clear, because an adequate single dose of Hexarelin is 1 mcg per kilogram of body weight. There's no point in overdoing it, so 100 mcg at a time is a reasonable dose. It should be administered 3 times a day, optimally after training, 10 minutes before meals, and before bed. The optimal course would be 1-2 months, otherwise the body develops tolerance to the drug.

GHRP-2. This is an oligoped that is able to penetrate the body and enter the bloodstream, bypassing the liver. This product is considered the most powerful stimulator of somatotropin production and consists of 6 sequentially connected amino acids and is capable of activating and increasing appetite by acting on ghrelin receptors.

Ipamorelin is part of the group of peptide hormones and also exacerbates the secretion of GH, but unlike the previous two, it does not cause an increase in appetite. There is no point in exceeding the dose of 100 mcg, because the result will be an order of magnitude lower than the initial dose, and later will lead to a decrease in the anabolic effect. A clear advantage of the drug is that even when exceeded, it does not stimulate the production of cortisol and prolactin, which in terms of safety is a very great achievement along with excellent activation of growth hormone.

Now let's move on to the second group, represented by the products GRF (1-29) or Sermorelin and CJC-1295.

The first of them has an extremely short half-life in the body, however, this is quite enough to raise the level of growth hormone. For maximum performance in bodybuilding, it is recommended to use GRF (1-29) in an amount of 100 to 200 mcg and combine with GHRP-2 and GHRP-6.

CJC-1295 is a more popular GH stimulant than the previous one; it was invented by a Canadian company in 2005 and became very famous in 2010-2011. The peptide consists of 30 amino acids; it is distinguished from GRF (1-29) by a slightly longer half-life (2 weeks). If the formulation does not include Drug Affinity Complex (DAC), then most likely you are buying a modified version of GRF (1-29), which the developers and sellers call CJC-1295, and it lasts about half an hour.

Many may ask why use peptides in bodybuilding if there is an artificial growth hormone, everything is very simple: GH stimulants have a number of advantages, firstly, they are cheap, quick and traceless destruction (who needs to undergo doping control), the mechanisms of action make it possible to manipulate the concentration curve and achieve optimal anabolic response.

So, you, having come to bodybuilding, decided to use peptides, and you are holding a labeled bottle with white powder in your hands, let’s figure out what’s in the bottle. Inside it we can see a white powder; it can be evenly scattered, in the form of crystals, or even on the walls of the container. This is all due to the fact that the same amount of substance is distributed using the machine. During the production process, namely freezing the bottle with its contents, the substance takes on different shapes.

If you have decided on the choice of drug, then you need to know that you can take them in several ways, but the most effective is injection. Before starting to prepare the solution, it is necessary to bring the temperature of the bottle to room temperature, while avoiding getting water for injection on the powder itself; it should flow along the walls. It is also not recommended to shake the substance. The prepared solution must be stored at a temperature no higher than 7 degrees Celsius.

Of course, you can’t buy peptides in a sports store or a regular pharmacy, but they are not prohibited, like, for example, steroid drugs. There are quite a lot of companies that produce them, but most of the drugs come from China, so trust only experienced and proven people in this matter. Currently, it is very easy to check the authenticity of a substance by taking a blood test for the presence of somatropin in its plasma, doing this immediately after administering the drug to the athlete’s body.
