Newborn period

The neonatal period is the first stage of a child’s life, which begins at birth and lasts until about 4 weeks. During this time, the child goes through many changes and adaptations to the new environment, including physiological and psychological aspects.

Physiologically, a newborn baby needs special care and attention, since his body is not yet fully formed. It must receive sufficient nutrition, water and oxygen, and also be in a comfortable temperature and humidity.

Psychologically, a newborn child experiences severe stress due to new living conditions; he may be scared, feel lonely and insecure. Therefore, parents and other adults should show care and attention to the child, create a calm and comfortable atmosphere for his development.

During the newborn period, a baby learns many things such as breathing, sucking, swallowing, moving, etc. This happens because the child receives experiences from his parents and other adults who care for him. Parents should help their child develop, teach him new skills and support him in the process of adaptation.

In addition, during the newborn period, the child forms emotional bonds with parents and other loved ones. The child begins to recognize his parents, recognize their voices, faces and touches. This helps him feel protected and loved.

Thus, the newborn period is an important stage in the life of a child. Parents and loved ones must provide the child with comfortable living conditions, help him adapt to new conditions and support his development.

The newborn period (synonyms: newborn stage, newborn period, neonatal, early neonatal period) is the stage of development of the human body from birth to the end of the first week of life. Openness to the outside world is replaced by adaptation to it. All three periods of life: intrauterine, extrauterine life and childhood represent natural successive stages in the development of the human individual organism. The newborn period is mainly limited to the time from the 40th minute from the onset of contractions to the 6th day of life and includes the first two days of life, since after 6 days the stage of infancy begins.
