Periodontitis

The periodontium (lat. Periodontium, from ancient Greek περι- - around, near the tooth and lat. dens, dentis - tooth) is a complex of tissues in the body surrounding the root of the tooth. Fixation of the tooth inside the jaw bone is carried out precisely due to the ligamentous apparatus, and not due to its beam system. The ligamentous complex includes: alveolar processes of bone, cement and dermatome, gums, periodontal ligament, supporting tissues of a connective tissue nature, periodontium, compact and spongy substance of the roots of the tooth, secured in a slit-like manner
