Pleuropneumonia is a simultaneous inflammation of the lung and pleura. Pleuropneumonia is characterized by the simultaneous development of inflammation in both the lungs (pneumonia) and the pleura (pleurisy). In this case, typical symptoms of both diseases are observed - cough, chest pain, fever, shortness of breath. Diagnosis is based on physical examination, chest x-ray and laboratory tests. Treatment includes antibacterial therapy, drainage of the pleural cavity if fluid accumulates. Pleuropneumonia can lead to serious complications, and therefore requires timely diagnosis and adequate treatment.
If you experience any symptoms that seem unusual or bother you, it is important to see your doctor immediately for evaluation. Pleuropneumonia, like any other disease, can be effectively prevented if you follow a few simple rules.
Pleuropneumonia is both an inflammation of the lung and the pleural membrane (the membrane that surrounds the lungs; the lungs are closely connected to the pleura). Pneumonia is often caused by bacteria such as pneumococcus (Staphylococcus pneumoniae), Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae. In some cases
