The quadrivalent

Quadrivalant

Quadrivalents are polynomial compounds in which several atoms participate in the construction of several bonds. In such compounds, each atom has multiple valence bonds, and they are usually more complex structural units than ordinary valence structures.

Based on the type of constituent elements that make up the quadrivalent layer, the following groups of compounds can be distinguished: - Carbon: Carboxyl groups (-C=O) in esters and hydroxyl groups (-OH) in polyhydric alcohols. - Nitrogen: amide group (-NH2) in amines, nitrogen group (-NO2) in nitro compounds, NH3 group (NH-). - Phosphorus: phosphate groups (PO4) in phosphoric acids. - Oxygen: methyl groups (CH3) in alcohols and alcohol ethers.
