Looking at pictures is a great way to develop a child's imagination and speech. Draw your child's attention to the paintings hanging on the walls of the room where you are. Ask your child to choose one picture that he likes.
If the picture shows a person, have the child come up with a story about that person's life. Who is this? Where does he live? What does he do? What kind of friends does he have? Come up with an interesting story together with your child.
If the picture is a landscape, invite your child to imagine that there may be invisible characters there. What are they doing? What are they talking about? What's going on around you? Give your child complete freedom for imagination.
If your child is having trouble coming up with his own story, start first. Take turns telling the story, pausing to let your child add his own ideas to your story. These creative games will develop your child's creativity and language skills.
