Recipes from our grandmothers. Flowers in cosmetics

Recipes from our grandmothers. Flowers in cosmetics.

The fact that many herbs are used in medicine and cosmetics has long been known. But few people know that the most ordinary flowers can be useful to maintain our beauty! Even flowers like rose or even dandelion can be used to make great lotions and facial packs.

Dandelion
Finely chop the entire plant with flowers and roots, dry it, put it in a glass jar, pour in vegetable oil, close with a simple nylon lid and place in a dark place for two weeks. You can collect just the flowering heads, then you don’t need to dry them, but immediately pour oil on them and leave them in a dark place for the same period. After two weeks, drain the oil and use it to wipe normal to dry skin.

Fragrant violet
Used for oily skin with enlarged pores. The lotion is prepared from 6 teaspoons of crushed flowers with stems, poured into two glasses of boiling water. After half an hour, strain. Wipe your face three times a day.

Yarrow white
Use in baths for dry body skin. 1 kg of herbs is boiled for 5 minutes. in 3 liters of water. The infusion is kept for 15 minutes, filtered. Add it to the bath or wipe your body with it using a sponge.

Cornflower blue
Used for enlarged skin pores. Pour 50 g of fresh flowers into 1/2 liter of boiling water. After an hour, strain the broth. Wipe your face 2-3 times a day.

Calendula (marigold)
For oily skin and juvenile acne, use a lotion of 3-5 fresh or 1 tablespoon of dried flowers infused with 100 ml of salicylic alcohol. After a day, strain the lotion. Mix a spoonful of lotion in a glass of hot water. Wipe your face morning and evening.

Chamomile
Excellent lotions are made from medicinal chamomile:

  1. 1 part of flowers and 10 parts of water is used for lotion for oily skin; in the same proportions, replacing water with milk, a lotion is made for dry skin.
  2. A flower infusion is made from 2-3 tablespoons of dried flowers and a glass of boiling water, which is used to steam the face.

Peppermint
It is used as an astringent, sedative, and relieves inflammation, itching, and irritation.

Rose
Rose water is made from rose petals, just like dandelion lotion. Use a diluted solution 1:2. Rose petal oil is prepared in a water bath from 1 cup of dry petals and 1 cup of vegetable oil. The oil nourishes dry and normal skin well.

The main thing to remember is that alcohol infusions can be stored for a long time, during the winter, until new infusions are prepared in the summer. Decoctions in water are not stored for long and only in the refrigerator. Oil extracts are stored longer, but also in the cold.
