Sialoscintigraphy

Sialocytography is a method of radiological diagnosis of diseases of the salivary glands using radioisotope scintillation gamma cytography. The method consists in determining the pathology of the salivary gland by the density of a hidden radioactive drug, which is the main significance of the method. Sialography allows you to study diseases such as ectasia, abscess, osteoma and sialadenitis. But sometimes such methods require the use of anesthesia or surgery. A sialogram is done to check for the presence of a neoplasm, such as a cyst or tumor, as well as congenital pathology, such as hypoplasia. These studies are not performed on pregnant women and

If you have taken part in dental treatment, no matter for what reason: root canal treatment or a simple filling, then you may have noticed pain in the corners of your mouth, which manifests itself when eating or talking. The resulting painful sensations can vary in intensity and duration from several minutes to several days. This may be associated with mucous diseases, but the main problem may be the irregular recovery of the salivary glands. In this case, surgical operations are used to alleviate the patient's condition. Sialoscigraphy often helps eliminate toothache.

Painful manifestations are usually associated with a decrease in the activity of the salivary glands of the upper and lower jaw, which leads to changes in saliva volume and composition. The clinical picture is often similar to caries, alveoli, periodontitis, disease of the salivary glands, stomatitis and other pathologies. At the same time, dental problems, as a rule, occur in parallel with the restoration of salivary activity.
