Hippocrates' sign - recognizes general abdominal pain. It occurs quite often and serves as a kind of test confirming the diagnosis of “acute abdomen”. Characteristic, first of all, for diseases of the abdominal organs.
Eyelid contraction (“blinking”) is a movement disorder characterized by involuntary rapid movement of the eyes and eyelids. Movement movements are given a chaotic character. They occur at a fast pace, with a frequency of 20–30 movements per minute. The duration of symptoms reaches 3 – 4 minutes and rarely lasts longer. Paradoxically, with such signs there are a number of limitations. A person cannot keep his gaze on a stationary object. If there is photophobia, a complete loss of orientation in space occurs. The patient feels lost. When exposed to light, blindness occurs in one eye. Visual acuity is revealed and it is noticeably reduced. Urgent treatment of the syndrome is required.
