**Bone syndactyly** is a congenital malformation characterized by fusion of the bones of both limbs with subsequent underdevelopment in the suture area. This pathology can be bilateral, but the unilateral form is more common. Most often it appears in the lower third of the leg, when one foot articulates with the other and forms a single motionless joint.
This anomaly occurs in 0.02-0.3% of all newborns, and, as a rule, girls suffer 2 times more often. This pathology is characterized by a combination of an undifferentiated limb, fusion of the bones of the leg and thigh, and often a single knee and hip joint with dysfunction is formed. According to the ICD-10 classification, this defect belongs to the section “Q - Q94. Different types of upper limb dysplasia.”
