This occurs with a thin, thinned iris, the formation of an additional degeneration fold, etc. The reasons for its occurrence are different, including: rare diseases, diabetes mellitus, genetic abnormalities. The process begins in the clear humor or vitreous humor and spreads towards the periphery. It has been noted that the average age of development of the disease in one form or another is approximately 35 years. If pathology is present in childhood, the disease also manifests itself in adulthood.
