Ligament pubis

The pubic ligament is a dense elastic fibrous fibromuscular complex consisting of collagen and muscle tissue. The pubic ligament connects the pubis and ischium and provides stability to the hip joint. It consists of long, wide and transverse fibers that extend from the acetabulum of the pelvic bone to the pubic joint.

The function of the pubic bones is to connect the two pelvic bones using the pubic symphysis, and the pubic ligaments are an integral part of this connection. These structures work together to help keep the pelvis in a stable position and prevent tearing and injury during movement. Under pressure and stretching during childbirth, the pubic bone is often damaged, causing the pubic ligament to rupture. This can lead to groin pain and hip instability.
