Hemorrhagic synovitis is a condition in which hemorrhage forms in the joint. This occurs because the blood vessels in the joint become leaky, allowing blood to leak into the joint capsule and synovial fluid.
The causes of hemorrhagic synovitis can be different, for example:
- Joint injury. Hemorrhage can occur due to a blow or bruise that causes blood vessels to rupture. - Inflammation inside the joint. In this case, the synovial membrane that covers the joint becomes inflamed, which leads to the formation of hemorrhage. - Blood clotting disorder. If a person has problems with blood clotting, then bleeding in the joint is much easier to occur. - Allergic reaction. Some medications and foods can cause allergies, leading to hemosynamtom.
