Synovitis Reactive

SYNOVITIS REACTIVE. Synovial tissue affected by the inflammatory process. If left untreated for a short period, it leads to the development of purulent inflammation, spread of the process throughout the joints and other organs, and sepsis. The X-ray picture in typical cases is characterized by the presence of gas bubbles without clear boundaries that contain inflammatory fluid: in rare cases, perforations of the synovial membrane and tendon-ligamentous apparatus occur. Intra-articular and intraperitoneal puncture is accompanied by the evacuation of a small amount of serous-hemorrhagic effusion (up to several milliliters). Due to the high protein content, synovial gangrenous knee joint can be diagnosed (the protein reaches 80 g/l).
