On the advice of a friend, I decided to try the Garnier Fructis “Healthy Ends” strengthening serum against split ends to combat split ends.

And as it often happens with me, I first bought it, and then began to disassemble the composition. Of course the composition is hellish. I won’t go into detail, but the emblica is an extract of berries, which is supposed to produce treatment according to the manufacturer’s statement at the very end of the list, and therefore there is a very insignificant amount of it there. And there is no point in analyzing the safety of ingredients if the manufacturer does not position itself as such.

Let's start with the pros:

— a convenient dispenser that can be locked by turning the lid so that it does not leak and is easy to take with you;

— distributes well throughout the hair, without feeling sticky;

— no pungent odor;

- does not weigh down hair;

- creates visual smoothness of hair.

Well, now to reality, of course, this serum definitely does not restore or treat split ends, but only for a short time gives a feeling of soldering of the ends of the hair. Perhaps, if this product was positioned as a thermal protectant, then there were fewer complaints about it.

This product seals the ends well, due to the silicone in the composition, for a short period of time, but you shouldn’t even promise any restorative properties.

As an inexpensive thermal protection, this is not a bad product, but it is useless to use as a restorative agent.

I picked it up quite by accident already at the checkout, while picking up goods when purchasing a certificate about a year ago.
Split ends are the main problem with my hair. A little about them: thick, straight, rather heavy, length below the waist, not colored. The type is rather normal, the ends are prone to dryness and split ends, especially in winter. I didn’t flatter myself with hopes that the serum would “glue” my split ends, so I started using it after trimming my hair in the summer.

I was immediately pleased with the aroma - fruity, sweet, but not intrusive, it stays on my hair for several hours, then I stop feeling it. Quite convenient packaging with a pump dispenser, which allows you to control the amount of product, and when turned, seals the bottle hermetically. The manufacturer offers to use the serum in three ways: as thermal protection, on dry hair to prevent split ends, or on damp hair for more intensive care.

I used it for thermal protection, because I dry my hair with a hairdryer every time I wash it (once every 2 days). The texture seemed oily to me, but when applied to the hair, it does not leave any stickiness - neither on the hands nor on the hair. When using the first bottle (about 4 months), the ends did not dry out or split, but this can be attributed to the fact that they were just trimmed.

The product is economical, only 1-2 clicks are enough for me. You can overdo it, so I don’t recommend applying more than 3 pumps, as your hair may look greasy. I also don’t recommend applying it to dry hair - the effect is not the same, the strands stick together, and instead of being soft, the ends become harder.

After the end of use, everything returned to normal - the ends began to dry out and split, despite the oil care. In January, the situation became completely deplorable, I was going to the hairdresser again, but again I remembered about this serum. Not from the first use, but after 2 weeks my hair began to look better, the ends are no longer so dry, and the split ends are not so noticeable. In the summer, I didn’t pay attention to the antistatic effect - usually in winter my hair is very electrified, but when using the serum it was practically not electrified. I also read reviews that the serum is good for sun protection, but I haven’t had a chance to check it yet, because I live in the north.

In general, the effect is more cosmetic than therapeutic - if you skip using the serum a couple of times, it goes away. Smoothes the hair structure, making the split ends less noticeable; in advanced cases, I don’t think it will help. But as a thermal protection it’s very good; my hair, despite frequent blow-drying, looks quite vibrant, although I haven’t cut it for almost a year.
