Temporal Lobe Syndrome

Temporal lobe syndrome

**Temporal lobe syndrome** (English: Temporal lobe syndrome) is a set of symptoms that arise from lesions of the left or right temporal hemisphere and internal capsule. The temporal lobe is bounded on the left by the septum pellucida and the lateral sulcus, and posteriorly by the third ventricle. Unlike the parietal lobe, to which the intraventricular, thalamic and trunk-costal tracts are related, the cortex and subcortical sections of the temporal lobe have connections with the frontal lobe. They are approached by the auditory radiate and interpeduncular and fibers of the glossopharyngeal nerve, to which fibers for the medulla oblongata, inferior olive and many nuclei are suitable.
