Topalgia

Topalgia is a disease characterized by unbearable pain in the joints, caused by a disorder of the nerves or inflammation of the tissues surrounding them. Topalgia affects up to 50% of the population, and the number of sufferers is steadily growing. Another cause of such pain may be psoriasis, which also manifests itself as inflammation and roughening of the skin around the joints, resulting in a painful condition.

There are many causes of topalgia. This can be a consequence of pathology of the joints and organs of other systems, as well as infections and tumor processes. Topalgia is divided into primary and secondary. The first occurs independently and has no apparent cause, the second indicates the presence of some disease. The most common causes of topalgia are arthritis, neuropathy, spondylosis, poliomyelitis, ankylosing spondylitis and others. Also, this problem can occur during pregnancy and old age. Often joint pain occurs due to iron deficiency. Symptoms of topalgia can vary from moderate pain to extremely severe acute pain.

In most cases, the appearance of topalgia does not require urgent medical intervention, however, it is still recommended to immediately seek medical help if the pain is accompanied by swelling and redness of the skin, fever and general weakness. First of all, the doctor makes a diagnosis, determines the type and stage of the disease, and only then prescribes treatment. If topalgia occurs due to joint pathologies, then therapy will be aimed at eliminating inflammation and pain. If there is an infection, the doctor will prescribe antibiotics. Topalgia in psoriasis requires a special approach to treatment, since contraindications should be taken into account and the drug should be selected very carefully, otherwise serious complications are possible. Doctors often prescribe non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs to the patient, which successfully combat pain, relieve inflammation and suppress the development of infection. In parallel, local agents can be used. To improve blood circulation, analgesics and immunomodulators are used
