Venous Plexus Uterine

The venous network of the uterus (English: Haematometra), “venous plexuses” is the stagnation of blood in the uterine cavity after childbirth or abortion. This is one of the serious complications that can occur after any delivery, regardless of the method of delivery.

This condition is characterized by the following symptoms: * Pain in the lower abdomen, increasing with changes in body position; * The appearance of thick red or dark blood outside of sexual activity during urination, due to the release of blood clots into the organ cavity; * Late formation of bruising or swelling on the wall and labia, which is accompanied by pain;

Congestion in the uterine cavity is due to the fact that it is affected by factors that cause an increase in pressure in the inferior vena cava system, spasm, as well as the parasympathetic nervous system.

* One of the main signs of hematometra is infertility. This is due to the fusion of the cervix together with the mouth of the internal pharynx, this often leads to increased pressure inside the muscular organ. This phenomenon often occurs after uterine hyperstimulation and cesarean section, when blood fills the uterine muscles, and sperm motility deteriorates and all this disrupts the fertilization process.

Hematometra can occur as an independent disease, and as a complication after certain procedures and surgery. Thus, this pathology often develops in pregnant women who experience ectopia. The most common factors for its occurrence are: 1. Postpartum abortions; 2. Myomectomy, gynecological curettage, hysteroscopy, amniotomy; 3. Injuries in the pelvic area (impact to the soft tissues of this area); 4. Surgical interventions on the bladder and rectum that disrupt the normal outflow of venous blood from the uterine cavity. 5. Inflammatory processes or disruption of the integrity of the placenta bed, frequent hemorrhages leading to the formation of extensive scars and narrowing of the cavity, varicose veins of the pelvis, curvature of the uterus due to fibroids or a sclerotic process.
