Ventricle

The ventricle is a cavity inside an organ. For example, the ventricles are the cavities in the brain and those chambers of the heart into which blood flows from the atria.

The ventricles of the brain are a system of communicating cavities filled with cerebrospinal fluid. They perform a protective function - they cushion the brain from shock and shaking. The ventricles of the brain are also involved in the production and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid.

The ventricles of the heart are the lower chambers where blood flows from the atria. The right ventricle pumps blood into the pulmonary circulation through the pulmonary artery. The left ventricle pumps blood into the systemic circulation through the aorta. Contractions of the ventricles ensure the movement of blood throughout the body.

Thus, ventricles are the names given to the internal cavities of various organs, in particular the brain and heart. They perform important functions related to the functioning of these organs.
