An inserted disc (lat. discus intercalates) is any disc that is not a disc itself (i.e., an equinoctial circle). The term refers to the location of this disk in a circle - at or near the edge of the circle (resembling the disk of the Moon in conjunction with the Sun). The inserted disk can be part of planetary bodies, including asteroids, comets, for example, the Snellen or Brandt disk; into planetary rings, incl. Neptune's ring or Saturn's ring; to be an independent celestial body.
