Catarrhal jaundice is an icteric inflammation of the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract resulting in catarrhal pneumonia; one of the types of bronchitis. Caused by the catarrhal form of influenza or some coccal infections. Complaints of malaise, headache, chills, slight (to low) temperature, swelling, nasal congestion; hyperemia and granularity of the throat mucosa, copious mucous discharge.
