Zob Diving

_Diving crop_ is the name given to one of the species of animals of the duck family (Anatidae) - _Parmelia anas._ The bird received its name for its ability to hide, hide in vegetation during a threat, which is why it began to be called _diving_. The wingspan of this type of duck reaches one and a half meters. The color of the bird and its size are characteristic of some species of ducks. The peculiarity of the species is a short and thick tail and a lighter head compared to many other species. Because of this, many people confuse the diver's crop with the female cove (European cove), which has the same body structure.

This bird feeds mainly on seeds and small crustaceans. Goiter divers are found throughout Europe, except in the eastern Afghan Registan Desert. There are both marine and river populations (for example, in the Baltic Sea). These ducks primarily inhabit vast wetlands, but swim beautifully over long distances, thus reaching the tidal zone on the Atlantic coast of Europe. They can even enter brackish waters. They migrate, returning to their original place, if there is a threat to their life, they go to the farthest and most remote corners of a lake or river, moving not so much through the water as through the coastal thickets, and also climbing deep into boundaries, edges and coastal reeds. In case of danger, they quickly fly to the nearest body of water, where, due to their color and plumpness, they can easily blend in with the environment. While eating, the bird relaxes: it seems to lean forward without its own will, showing itself, so some hunters often confuse this type of duck with another bird - the duck coot (coot).

In their natural habitat, the ducks themselves know almost no predators; their main enemy is man, who not only exterminates them for tasty meat, but also destroys their unique natural habitat, poisoning waters, flooding and changing natural landscapes. Poaching is the most dangerous enemy for these birds, which are considered by many to be the unsurpassed Mediterranean duck-walkers. Among the remaining species, mandarin ducks and otters are common. Birds left homeless flock to lakes and neighboring coastal lands. This makes them vulnerable to diseases and various parasites, from which they cannot recover, which ultimately leads to a rapid deterioration in their physical condition and, as a result, to gradual extinction.
